THE ƐHANN COLLECTION
ɛhann is a word in twi used to express light: to shine light upon, to iluminate.
‘When in the darkness, ɛhann will let you see’.
Aketekete uses this word as we ‘ɛhann’ Ghanaian craft and shine light upon the ancestral techniques of bead making.
Inspired by daily life in Ghana, our new collection pays tribute to the exquisite recycled glass beads that have been used in trading for centuries.
Handcrafted and handpainted, these beads are put together to showcase the uniqueness of textures, shapes and colours. Details of gold plated brass infuse a higher value into the product and accentuate the unique irregularities of each glass bead.
